"Snipatuit" is a Wampanoag word that translates to "at the rocky river". It is the name of the pond we are located on here in Rochester, Massachusetts. This is where we raise and breed purebred AMJA-registered Jersey and AHCA-registered Scottish Highland Cows. We are members of the American Highland Cattle Association (AHCA), the Northeast Highland Cattle (NEHCA) Association and American Miniature Jersey Association (AMJA&R).
Our mid-mini Jerseys are carefully bred for rich, high-quality milk—ideal for homestead families interested in producing their own milk, butter, yogurt, and cheese on a manageable scale.
As we enter our fifth season of building our herd, we are proud to care for our Jersey girls—Buttercup, Autumn, Summer, Meadow, Willow, and Brie—alongside our Highland breeding cows—Islay, Skye, and Elspeth. Each animal is raised with attention to temperament, health, and productivity.
We are currently nearing certification as we complete the final stages of building our micro-dairy, where we will soon offer fresh, farm-produced milk, yogurt, butter, cheese as well as pork, beef, and fresh vegetables.
In addition to our dairy products, we are passionate about helping other families begin their own homesteading journey. We offer quality breeding stock for those looking to add a family milk cow or Highland cattle to their farm.
We invite you to visit our “Available Highlands" and "Available Jersey's” pages to learn more about current and upcoming animals available for purchase.
